Irene, the Mulligan method of taping for plantar fascia pain assumes that
the calcaneum is out of position, relative to the distal insertion of the
plantar fascia. With the patient in prone, knee flexed, place the calc. in
external rotation, at the same time applying tape to the lat. aspect of
the heel, around the heel toward the medial malleolus. Repeat with two
pieces of tape, maintaining the ext. rotation force. This is an effective
technique that uses less tape than other techniques. Good luck. Martin
Kidd.
