Dear Robert,
re. translations of the Mandragola: there is a recent version which was
published in the US in the mid-90s:
Ariosto's The supposes, Machiavelli's The mandrake, Intronati's The deceived
: three Italian Renaissance comedies ; edited by Christopher Cairns ;
translated into English and introduced by Jennifer Lorch et al (Lewiston,
N.Y.: Edwin Mellen Press, 1996)
An earlier translation was produced by Mera J. Flaumenhaft, together with an
introduction and notes (Prospect Heights, IL: Waveland, 1981)
Another version can be found in the Penguin classics series:
Machiavelli, The Mandragola; Ariosto, La Lena; Aretino, The Stablemaster;
Gl'Intronati, The Deceived; Guarini, The Faithful Shepherd; edited by Bruce
Penman (London: Penguin, 1978)
Hope this helps,
Domenico.
