The film image to which John Butcher refers is, of course, Fellini's _La
dolce vita_. I must correct the remark: Fellini's own film used a
helicopter as well, but it was carrying a statue of Jesus.
There was a brillant parody of _La dolce vita_ done on the old (original)
Saturday Night LIve TV program in the segment called "Schindler's Reel"
(referring to the film maker who often produced short films for the
program). It was called _La dolce Gilda_ and starred the late Gilda Radner
in the role of the glamourous female movie star (a/k/a Anita Ekberg), Danny
Akroyd in a white suit and sunglasses in the Mastroianni role, the late
John Belushi as one of the crowd in the Via Veneto caffé setting, and
Laraine Newman in her Lina Wertmueller character.
Also, featured Nino Rota style music.
