The only one I can think of off hand is Woody Allen's "Everything you Always
Wanted to Know about Sex but were Afraid to Ask" in which there is a skit
with Woody and Louise Lasser[name?] in a clothing shop with, if I remember
correctly, another spoof on "La Dolce Vita".

Subject: Lampooning of Italian masterpieces in American mass media
Hello all
Here is something that might not be directly related
to the topic of Italian Studies but that none the less
could bed interesting piece of trivia to entertain your
friends with.
I was watching idly the infamous show "3rd rock from the sun"
as they spoofed "La dolce vita" and "8 1/2 " along with Lang's "M"
(later found out the particular episode is entitled "Nightmare on
Dick Street")
Now my open question to the mailing list is the following:
could anybody think of other instances in which Italian
film classics are lampooned in American movies, sitcoms,
or even commercials?
I hope I haven't offended anyone by the frivolous nature of
my question.
