Invitation to Tender
DDA Information Project
Tenders are invited from disabled people by Sheffield City Council to run
an information project that will provide disabled people in Sheffield with
the information they need to use Part III of the Disability Discrimination
Act.
The project will provide:
* General information on Part III of the DDA for example, who has rights
under the Act and which service providers are included.
* Specific information on how disabled people in Sheffield can challenge
service providers.
* Specific information on what the City Council is doing to implement the
DDA and what adjustments disabled service users can expect from it.
* An action plan and suggestions for further work required by the City
Council to inform disabled people of their rights under the DDA.
The project should be:
* Accessible to the widest possible audience.
* Based on a social approach to disability.
The project should begin in June 2000 and be completed by the end of
September 2000, although the exact timescale will be negotiable.
The project needs to contain a number of different strategies, for example,
using the local media, providing written information and conducting public
information meetings.
The value of the contract is £4,500.00.
