OZCHI 2000 Conference on Human-Computer Interaction
Interfacing reality in the new millennium

Call for submissions
OZCHI is the annual conference for the Computer-Human Interaction Special
Interest Group (CHISIG) of the Ergonomics Society of Australia, and
Australia and New-Zealand's leading forum for work in all areas of
Human-Computer Interaction.
OZCHI attracts an international community of researchers and practitioners
with a wide range of interests, including human factors and ergonomics,
human-computer interaction, information systems, software engineering,
artificial intelligence, design, social sciences and management.
Original papers, posters and proposals for the doctoral consortium are
solicited, as well as demonstrations and proposals for half-day and full-day
workshops and tutorials. Paper submissions will be subject to a double blind
refereeing process by an international panel.
Submissions in all areas of HCI are invited, including:
ˇ HCI methods, practice, and theory
ˇ Organisational, societal, and cross cultural issues
ˇ Theories, models, and modelling of users and interfaces
ˇ CSCW, group work, groupware, and computer-mediated human communication
ˇ User interface architectures, tools, techniques, and technology
ˇ Interfaces for all
ˇ Distributed interfaces, including the world wide web
ˇ Mobile and small devices
ˇ Methods, models and tools for user-centered and organisation-driven design
and development
ˇ Industry based case studies of user interface design and development
ˇ Innovative interfaces, including virtual reality, augmented reality,
multimedia, and adaptive interfaces
ˇ HCI education and training
In keeping with the theme: Interfacing Reality, special emphasis will be
placed on issues of accessibility and on novel interfaces, including:
ˇ Web: Web design and evaluation, Access to the Web, Children and the Web
ˇ Electronic communities
ˇ Ecommerce
ˇ Accessibility issues
ˇ Pervasive and invisible computing
ˇ WAP and portable computing
ˇ Usability and Fun
ˇ Usability in game applications
ˇ Augmented reality
ˇ Remote work
ˇ Working in 3D

Electronic and paper submissions will be accepted. Electronic submissions
must be PDF, RTF, or Word for PC files. Detailed instructions to authors,
