Hello to the list.
I am new to this forum and my background was in the ambulance service for 23
years latterly as a paramedic. I now own a training company teaching First
Aid at Work etc.
I am very keen to keep abreast of what is current in the medical world hence
joining the list. I do have an ulterior motive for joining and that is to be
able to pass on the most sound advice to my students in terms of first aid
and to gain from the expertise on the list that which often text books fail
to include. I am also currrently studying to become a teacher.
Can anyone on the list explain to me why it is that a patient with
concussion exhibits a pale complexion. Secondly what is the reaction that
causes athletes to vomit after a running race. Lastly can anyone comment on
the phenemenon of 'dry drowning'.
I hope I am not encroching on your valuable time, sadly another list which I
recently left had such a lot of irrelevent post, I hope that you will not
consider this in the same light.
Yours sincerely,
Les King-Smith.
