Dear All,
Can anyone of a pre-hospital / immediate care persuasion tell me what the
role of C-Spine precautions in treating an attempted hanging - specifically
in trying to "get them down" in the first place?
A friend of mine has to give a presentation on the subject and asked me for
advice, but I have no experience outside hospitals. I would have thought
that protecting the C-Spine would be part of any "protocol", but there is an
obvious urge to get people down fast to start CPR if necessary.
Is there an "approved method" of cutting down hanging victims that affords
some C-Spine protection?
Thanks
Jonathan Bury
