I have asked the NHSIA and this is the position this morning
Clinical Terms Version 3 and SNOMED are being merged in a collaboration with
the College of American Pathologists, this work is due to finish by the end
of 2001
I knew that this was happening and in my original post I was wrongly still
calling this Read - apologies
The resulting code set will be available to the NHS
Certainly Read/Clinical Terms Version 3 is far more useful/flexible than Read
Version 2
Hope this helps clarify things
Cheers
