Hamilton's message, identifying Hiroshi Yamashita and Toshiyuki Suzuki as
the scholars who have re-edited the text for his (eagerly anticipated!)
Longman edition, points the way toward the reference I was unable to
provide earlier (and still haven't located). They are two members of the
Japanese team that published an extremely interesting textual study of FQ.
The decision to use 1590 as copytext for Books 1-3 in the Longman is
anticipated by the arguments they presented earlier, arguments that (as I
mentioned before) are favorably reviewed by W. P. Williams.
Bert, how soon will the forthcoming Longman Annotated edition come forth?
This year, by any good chance?
