+AD4- Dear Douglas
+AD4-
+AD4- Nice answer and there is much to agree with. I also agree that surgery
does
+AD4- not absolutely prove the disc rationale. As with all our techniques it
might
+AD4- work for other reasons.
+AD4-
+AD4- I work totally clinically and do not feel the question is academic. We
have
+AD4- our reasoning and manual skills, with only the former we become
constrained
+AD4- and theoretical, with only the latter, shotgun in approach.
+AD4-
+AD4- Disc orientated spinal theory has dominated UK thinking for many years. If
+AD4- this is not true in clinical situations we should say so and devise other
+AD4- theories. This is the nature of progress. If techniques targeting discs
work
+AD4- they might do so for other reasons. By identifying this we many refine or
+AD4- develope new and better treatments.
+AD4-
+AD4- Theoretical dogma can get in the way of progress. I am suspicous that this
+AD4- is the case with the disc analogy, but I would be happy to be educated if
it
+AD4- is not.
+AD4-
Douglas this was originally sent to you alone, by mistake. I live in the NE
give me a call if you have a spare afternoon
+AD4-
+AD4- Warm Regards Kevin kevin.reese+AEA-virgin.net
