Sam,
The 1851 census does not contain details of children's ages
under 5 years for counties or registration districts. This
was first introduced in 1861.
A rough guide MIGHT be to look at the numbers of births in
that year in each registration district. I'll send you this
information in machine-readable form if you like although I
think I've already sent it to Humphrey.
