Are you an Information Professional, Librarian, student, academic or
researcher working with business information? Whatever sector you are
from, if you are one of the thousands of Internet users, frustrated in
your quest to find reliable sources of quality business information on
the Internet, this opportunity is a must for you.
A free one-day event is being held on 25th February in Central London
where you will see demonstrations of a free, easy to use Internet service
providing direct ease of access to high quality, timely and accurate
information on business. All we ask is that you provide us with feedback
on how we can improve and develop our service even more, to meet the
needs of you and your user community.
Why should I be interested in an event?
If you're becoming more and more overwhelmed at the number of sites on
the Internet and your difficulty in finding those you really need in the
limited time you have available, you must attend. Why spend your valuable
time searching through vast numbers of hits, when the Internet experts
have already done it for you? We'll provide you with a hands-on session,
tailored to your needs to ensure you get the very best out of both our
existing and exciting new services. We'll also be asking you about the
kind of information and services you need and how we can help.
Whether you're a regular Internet user, or a novice searcher struggling
to make sense of what's out there, you'll find this day vital to equip
you with what you need to ensure you've always got the best information,
literally at your fingertips.
Who are we, and what's in it for us?
SOSIG: The Social Science Information Gateway is the world's first and
finest gateway to Internet resources within the social sciences and we're
growing even bigger and better. SOSIG has over 5 years of experience in
providing well targeted, detailed descriptions of relevant Internet
resources in your subject areas.
Not only that, but we are extending the service to include a number of
new and exciting features designed to make sure your search is always a
fruitful experience. The service receives funding from the Joint
Information Systems Committee (JISC), the ESRC and the European Union and
so is absolutely free to users. However, our users' feedback is important
to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality of service.
Places are limited and are booking fast. To book yours, send us your
details on our web form at http://www.sosig.ac.uk/launch.html by 18th
February. Book early to avoid disappointment.
