Call for papers, half-day session at RGS-IBG Annual Conference Plymouth
2001.
"Geographies of Gender: Explorations into Current Postgraduate Research"
Co-Convenors: Kath Browne and Kathryn Morris-Roberts
All current postgraduate students, masters and research, are invited to
submit an abstract for a half day session entitled "Geographies of Gender:
Explorations into Current Postgraduate Research". Postgraduate students
from outside the discipline are also welcome to submit abstracts. This
session is designed to enable postgraduate students to present papers in a
supportive environment within a main session of an international
conference.
Work in progress concerning issues around the following broad themes is
envisaged:
*gender and interlocking systems of difference (age, class, disabilities,
race/ethnicities, sexualities)
*identity, space and place
*interpretations, uses and appropriations of feminisms
*theory into practice, practice into theory
*methodology and ethics
We hope to be able to offer some funds to support postgraduates who wish to
participate in this session. If you wish to apply for a bursary please
contact either of the convenors.
Abstracts should be approximately 200 words, clearly stating the title,
author(s) names and contact details. Please send abstracts via email (as an
attached word document) or by post to arrive no later than 31st May 2000 to
