POSTGRADUATE STUDENTSHIPS IN CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY

Three MA studentships are now available to applicants for the Cultural
Geography M.A. programme at Royal Holloway, University of London: two
fully-funded ESRC studentships (home fees plus maintenance at c.£8,500) and
one college studentship paying home fees and a contribution towards
maintenance. This programme has full Research Training (RT) weighting from
ESRC, and is designed both for students interested in going on to PhD
research in human geography and for students who wish to take a one-year MA
programme.
Themes covered in the MA programme include geographies of identity; cultures
of consumption; geographies of the body; postmodernity and urban cultures;
colonialism and postcolonialism; landscape; geopolitics. The teaching staff
in 2000-1 will include Phil Crang, Klaus Dodds, Felix Driver, David Gilbert,
Rob Imrie, Luciana Martins, Catherine Nash, Tim Unwin and Denis Cosgrove.
