Dear list members,
Hull University Geography Department advertised a
lectureship in Physical Geography (salary range
17238-22579 pounds per annum) earlier this week. The post
is indirectly a replacement for a plant biogeographer, and
since most of the department's research is concerned with
things watery, someone interested in wetlands would be a
welcome addition to the staff. Physical Geography research
is clustered into two themes, Fluvial geomorphology and
sedimentology, and palaeoenvironmental change (which
includes biogeography - most of the staff in this area
work on contemporary environments and processes as well
as palaeorecords from sediments), and other foci of
research are provided by an Earth Observation laboratory
and two interdisciplinary Centres, the Centre for Waste and
Pollution research (which has interests in composting,
decay processes and biological remediation, among others)
and the Centre for Wetland Archaeology.
