Department of Electronic Imaging and Media Communications (EIMC)

Tomorrow's New Media People Today

The Department of EIMC performs research and multi-disciplinary
education in imaging and media technology and its creative uses.

Research areas of particular interest are Internet computing,
games, online communities, shared virtual environments, web
technology, e-commerce, network information management, digital
media on the Internet.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and innovative individuals
to support and develop the research and teaching programmes of
this dynamic and exciting Department.  The successful candidates
will have expertise in a number of areas of digital media or
related fields, for example, multimedia, computer animation,
virtual reality, media production, video games, special effects,
broadcasting, human/machine interaction.

Cybernetics and Virtual Systems

Bulding the Internet Future

This Unit brings together teaching and research in communications
and remote control systems in the context of the new technologies
of the Internet, autononmous robotics, and advanced electronic
systems.  It represents a major new growth area of the School.
