Intelligent system technologies offer great promise in coping with the
challenges in design and manufacturing. They contribute toward the
production of "world class" products and services in dynamic global
markets. Intelligent systems are being used in design and manufacturing
processes and they are receiving increasing attention from industries thus
leading to their impact being more profound than from earlier industrial
revolutions, contributing to a new era in design and manufacturing and
associated support entities. The major emphasis of this conference is on
new perspectives, novel and innovative applications, real-world
experiences
on implementation and applications of these technologies and future
trends.
Papers are solicited on new developments and practical applications of
intelligent system technologies to various aspects of design and
manufacturing and their support activities.
Topics include :
Technologies:
*knowledge-based expert systems
*neural networks
*fuzzy logic systems
*genetic algorithms
*intelligent agents
*Internet, Intranet, Extranet based systems
*intelligent agents
*collaborative intelligent systems
*distributed intelligent systems
*case-based reasoning
*data mining
Applications:
*product and process design
*manufacturing processes
*manufacturing systems
*plant engineering
*energy, waste, and productivity management
*process control
*production planning, control, and scheduling
*flexible manufacturing systems (FMS)
*rapid and virtual prototyping
*materials handling
*quality control, inspection, and testing
*concurrent engineering
*agile and lean manufacturing
*virtual manufacturing
*robotics
*information systems for design and manufacturing
*"green" manufacturing
*simulation
*e-commerce
(Proceedings of this conference will be published and available at the
meeting).
