Colleagues
My source of information tells me that there are going to be imminent wide
spread cuts in the A & E services throughout the UK. My source, which has
always been reliable informs me that this is in the name of actually
improving the services. I am a little short of the grey matter so I haven't
quite worked that one out yet, I understands it is something to do with our
colleagues in primary care taking on more of the out of hours emergencies,
NHS Direct and walk in centres. They won't need highly paid individuals
like me.
However this will mean that there is reduced need for specialists. In the
order of 30% of the DGH. A & E depts. will be cut or have rationalised
services.
I suppose they will have to pension the old ones off.
