The EC has announced results from the July 1999 Call for
applications for the Connect and for the Culture 2000 pilot
programme.
Connect results
31 projects were selected from 243 applications. 140 organisations
were involved, 17 of these from the UK. Total support for all the
selected projects will amount to 7,037,690 euro.
A second call under Connect was issued in the area of training and
education, culture and new technologies, in a joint venture
between the former DGX (Culture) and DGXXII (Education, Training
and Youth). From this call 60 new projects were selected from 267
submitted.
Culture 2000 pilot programme results
This Call involved Experimental Measures organised around three
Actions.
Action 1. Measures to test the implementation of specific and
innovative projects. 42 projects selected from 266 submissions. To
receive in total 3,070,000 euro.
Action 2. Measures covered by structured multi-annual
transnational cooperation agreements. 10 projects selected from 79
submissions. To receive in total 2,200,000 euro.
Action 3. Measures designed to test the organisation of special
cultural events with a European and/or international dimension.
The year 2000 marks the 250th anniverary of the death of Johann
Sebastian Bach, and funding under this Action was earmarked for
projects concerned with bringing Bach's work to a wider audience.
Three large-scale projects chosen from 65 submissions. To receive
total 800,000 euro.
