I am giving a talk on "Finding Resources On Your Web Site" at the
Internet Librarian International 2000 Conference in London on 20-22
March 2000.
The talk is based on surveys of search engines used within the
community. The talk then looks at other developments, such as national
(acdc) and regional (Maestro) search engines and eLib work.
My slides are available at:

g/
I'd be interested in hearing how people think thinks will develop over
the next few years.
Will institutions continue to use ht://Dig, eXcite, etc?
Will a national search engine be of importance?
Will distributed searching using, say, Z39.50 be widely used?
Will web searching be integrated with non-web searching?
Will institutions index remote resources (e.g. subject-based, regional,
etc.)? Is this scaleable?
Will we be doing things differently to the rest of the world? Will the
rest of the world take onboard developments in UK HE?
Thanks
Brian
