Hi everyone
I have joined this list to ask a specific question: does anyone know the
etymology of 'risk', which I have traced to its Italian roots but no
further. I ask, because in a recent lecture by Anthony Giddens he
mentioned that 'risk' has its origins in enlightenment exploration, i.e.
'the danger beyond', but I have not been able to track this down anywhere.
Yours sincerely
Alex
