Here's an effort to start a new thread...!
I've just written up a couple of lab. experiments, devised for a new
third-year course, for J. Chem. Ed. Most people are probably aware that
this J. now publishes very brief details in print for such contributions,
together with full details on the Web for anyone who, having read the brief
description, decides that they would like to use the experiment themselves.
I think that this is a sensible idea.
But publication times can be rather long, and I was wondering whether
anyone has thought about setting up a less formal archive, where people
could deposit details of lab experiments without the hassle of writing a
paper (admittedly, without peer review as well!). If anyone knows about
such a facility, I'd be grateful for details, as would colleagues planning
new 1st and 2nd year experiments.
