CALL FOR WORKSHOP AND TUTORIAL PROPOSALS
THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HANDHELD AND UBIQUITOUS COMPUTING (HUC2K)

OUTLINE
Ubiquitous personal, handheld and wearable technologies, coupled with
environment-based technologies, is set to transform our access to
information and computing. Artefacts in the physical world will
become computationally accessible, and our everyday environment will
become a powerful ubiquitous computing interface. The Second
International Symposium on Handheld and Ubiquitous Computing (huc2k)
will again bring together researchers and practitioners to explore
the links and synergies between personal and environment-based
technologies.
HUC2k wishes to solicit proposals for workshops or tutorials relevant
to the conference themes. Workshops and tutorials will be held on
Wednesday 27 September 2000 following the technical conference
programme.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops are half or full day meetings where participants gather to
discuss a topic in depth. Workshops will be led by presenters who
will organise contributions by a limited number of participants.
TUTORIALS
Tutorials are half or full day meetings where presenters provide
access to state-of-the-art knowledge for participants supported by
comprehensive tutorial notes.
In either case, conference delegates will pay a fee for attendance
which will cover the costs of the meeting including a fee for
organisers. Workshops and tutorials will be advertised to delegates
on a first-come, first-served basis.
FORMAT
Please email mailto:[log in to unmask] with details of the proposed
workshop or tutorial. Details should include a title, brief outline,
full or half-day format, details of a/v requirements, and ideal
audience size.
DEADLINE
Expressions of interest are sought immediately, with final proposals
due on 1 MAY 2000. Final decisions will be made by the programme
committee on 12 June and arrangements made with presenters for
delivery at the conference.
