In my locality, NHS Direct seems to be advising people to telephone
us at Edgware Urgent Treatment Centre for advice. Their advice to
attend us is also not always appropriate.
We certainly were stretched to the limit. Though the wait to see our
excellent Emergency Nurse Practitioners for minor injuries was
acceptably short, a large number of patients needed to see the Duty
Doctor. They waited almost as long as the patients in the local A&E
Departments.
