I think it's a question of who is paying her up to what time. If she is
rostered an paid up to 08.00hrs on that day, then she's at your
disposal.
If the consultants at the other end will not negotiate, then clearly
your SHO is at risk of starting off her new job on a bad footing.
Sadly, these problems tend to get taken out on the SHO's themselves.
What is your attitude towards staff who are on duty the night prior to
starting your job.
