The Year 2000 Annual Conference of the Social Policy Association
will take place at the University Of Surrey Roehampton,
South-West London, from July 18 - 20. Contributions are solicited on
the following sub-themes:
Research, Policy and Practice Links
Delivering Welfare
Using Welfare
Economics of Welfare
Governance of Welfare
Social Movements
Education and Employment
Social Policy Futures - a Comparative Perspective
Teaching and Learning
Welfare Professions and Professionalization
Plenary speakers: Will Hutton (July 18), Bob Holman (July 19)
and Marju Lauristin (July 20).
Other sessions will include: symposia on key theoretical debates;
special sessions on a range of social policy issues relating to research,
policy and practice; meetings for special interest groups including
women and social policy, health policy and comparative social policy;
paper sessions and poster presentations; post-graduate reception.

Printed abstracts of around 150 words (together with a Word 7 or
earlier version of Word on a clearly labelled disk) should be sent to the
Conference Secretariat by March 31 2000. The abstract should show
your name, institutional affiliation, mailing address, telephone number
and e-mail address. Regrettably e-mail attachments cannot be
accepted.
