Dear All,
Remember the comments on compensated and uncompensated Trendelenburg gait.
I have a patient with severe left gluts wastage post (L) THR (he got
discharged to a respite home for a bit and no physio was arranged - I picked
up the referral from a social worker!).
Although he markedly leans his trunk to the affected side in an attempt to
free his right leg for swing through, he still demonstrates a severe
dropping of the pelvis to the unaffected side.
Would this then be called partially compensated Trendelenburg gait (since he
IS compensating but failing to achieve full compensation!)??????
Yours intrigued,
Alison.
