LECTURER IN GERMAN
CENTRE FOR MODERN LANGUAGES
The Centre for Modern Languages at the Open University was
founded in 1991, specialising in the teaching and research of
modern languages. The Centre for Modern Languages and the
School of Education will merge in September 2000 to form the new
Faculty of Education and Language Studies.
A full-time Lecturer in German is required to contribute to the work
on the three existing German courses and any future courses
and/or projects. You will be required to work on written and audio-
visual learning materials and the development of assessment
materials and to make a contribution to the German residential
schools.
You should be graduate linguists (or equivalent) with a native or near-
native level of competence in both German and English. The
appointment will be on the Lecturer staff salary scale £17,238 -
£22,579 pa or £23,521 - £30,065 pa depending on qualifications and
experience.
The above post is permanent and is based at the University's
headquarters at Walton Hall, Milton Keynes.
