Greetings and apologies for any cross-postings!
Family Health International (FHI) is pleased to announce the addition of a
new publication on adolescent reproductive health to our Web site entitled,
"Meeting the Needs of Young Clients: A Guide to Providing Reproductive
Health Services to Adolescents." The 108-page handbook, online as full text
at http://www.fhi.org/en/fp/fpother/adolhand/adolchap1.html
<http://www.fhi.org/en/fp/fpother/adolhand/adolchap1.html> has been
developed to help service providers and health workers strengthen the
reproductive health care and services offered to young women and men. It
focuses primarily on preventing unplanned pregnancies and sexually
transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS. It also contains
information on counseling young people about reproductive health, counseling
victims of sexual violence or coercion, creating youth-friendly programs and
creating a referral network. Some of the tools it offers are role plays on
abstinence and condom negotiation, in-depth charts on contraceptive methods
for adolescents and a chart on key issues to discuss regarding STIs.
Print copies of the guide are available from FHI at no cost to developing
country service delivery programs by contacting [log in to unmask]
