I have no idea about this, though my Laurie started doing it when
she was about three (maybe two and a half?). She's 3;9 now, but
her "why" questions are still only one-word long:
SPEAKER: His name is Albert.
LAURIE: Why?
I've never heard her say anything remotely close to:
- Why is the sky blue?
