Dear Colleague
INSTRUMENTED CITY Annual Seminar
University of Leeds
Thursday 7th December
I am pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Instrumented City (IC)
facility Seminar is to be held on Thursday the 7th of December at the
University of Leeds. The date has been delayed from its usual date in
September, so that we can share our great news about the award of the
EPSRC JIF: Leeds Air pollution, Noise, health and Emissions Research
Network (LANTERN).
For those of you who don't know what the IC facility offers, it
provides an extensive data set of pollution and traffic related
information and a wide range of data collection and analysis services.
The LANTERN National Integrated Research facility will provide
additional equipment and enable research to be conducted into all
aspects of traffic related air pollution and effects on health.
It is our intention to gather together as many existing and potential
users of the IC Facility as possible, to explore new and exciting
research opportunities that have now been made possible by this
prestigious award. The afternoon session will be used to discuss
further the comprehensive co-ordinated large scale, and identify
groups of researchers who would benefit from collaborative data
collection exercises.
We believe that the seminar will be of value not just to project
managers, but also to research assistants, research fellows and post
graduate students.
There is no charge to attend the Seminar, and lunch will be provided.
If you would like any further information or have any queries, please
contact myself (IC and LANTERN liaison officer) or Dr Margaret C Bell
(IC Manager). To confirm attendance, please complete and return the
reply slip at the bottom of this email. Further details will be sent
out to respondants.
I would be grateful if you could bring this to the attention of your
colleagues.
Yours sincerely
James Tate
