Subject: Identification needed
A colleague who does not subscribe to Caduceus has asked to me to post the
following query:
Can anyone identify the artifact pictured in the attached images? This is
one
of three, each a different size but all appropriate for children, which
came
from Babies Hospital in Wilmington, NC (early 1920s - 1960s). They were
donated
to the Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington in 1975.
Our surmise is that they are an orthopedic device, perhaps for treating
scoliosis, but we have not been able to confirm this.
