Philadelphia October 5-8, 2000
The 4th International Congress on Crossdressing, Sex and Gender has
been scheduled for October 5-8 at The Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia.
Congress organizers, the Wayne, PA based Renaissance Transgender
Association, Inc, and cosponsors The Center for Sexuality & Religion
and The International Foundation for Gender Education invite all who
are interested in learning about transgender issues to participate
in this multidisciplinary event.
The program includes three lunchtime plenary sessions with a focus
on transgender issues in relation to the legal system, HIV prevention
and spirituality. The plenary speakers are Dr. Walter O. Bockting,
Rev. Dr. William Stayton, and transgender Houston, Tx. attorney
Phyllis R. Frye.
The Congress program includes over 35 papers, workshops and panels
covering a number of items on the transgender spectrum. Everything
from transvestite priests in the south Pacific and transgender sex
workers in the big city, to the origins of gender and orgasm in
transsexuals will be discussed, explored and presented from Friday,
October 6 through Sunday, October 8.
The presenters and attendees of the 4th Congress come from all over
the world to learn the latest on transgender issues. Sex educators,
therapists, researchers and transgendered people from Australia,
Malaysia, Canada, England, Norway, Mexico, and other countries, will
join with those from all around the United States to exchange
information on transgender issues.
Social events at the 4th Congress include an opening reception on
October 5, a wine tasting on Friday, October 6 during which attendees
may meet TG celebrity Dana Rivers, and a Saturday night banquet
featuring TG chanteuse, Grae Phillips.
