Not quite correct. UK Driver numbers are not coded versions of name,
birth date and gender they are simply that information permuted. So if
you keep your original initials then the only effect of the change in
gender (M->F) is to increase the digit which represents the 'ten' in
your birth month by 5. So if you are born in January-October 0 becomes 1
and it you are born in November - December 1 becomes 6. This is the only
gender coding on the license (apart from the 'sense' of your forenames).
In order to get the licensing authorities to change the gender indicator
when you change your name you have to explicitly ask them to in writing
and also provide a letter from your psychiatrist or GP confirming why
you need to get it changed. This is usually done when you transition, it
doesn't have to wait on when you have srs. Unfortunately we still can't
change our birht certificates or legal status even after srs :-(.

Do something similar?
Surely, unless your gender is coded/permuted into your driver number why
would you worry anyway?
