I can't cite any references, but the Catholic Church Tribunal on Annulment
saw fit to annul my marriage after twenty-five years, on the grounds that
when I married I exhibited "gross lack of discretion...". In other words I
should have known at the time of our marriage that twenty three years later
I would transition. I resisted the annulment but it was carried out with
all the secrecy one might expect. Evidence was anonymous and not shown to
me until after the verdict had been given and the so-called Defender of the
Bond did not once ask me whether any of the lies and half-truths offered in
evidence had any basis in fact. Neither my wife not I were Catholic but
shewanted to marry a Catholic and he would not marry her unless the marriage
were annulled first.
