I've seen this. Are you using windows NT? I believe this is a
definite bug in the postscript drivers for windows NT. At least this
was there for matlab 5.3 back in 11/99.
Go to Defaults, select printing, and change the export to postscript
level 1 color instead of postscript level 2 color. The problem seems
to arise if more than one axes is present on the figure.
