The following two commands enable you to resize the window/figure along
with its controls:
set(gcf, 'Resize', 'on')
set(get(gcf, 'child'), 'Units', 'Normalized')
After typing these commands you should be able to resize the window/figure
using the mouse. The commands will only affect the current figure. I
haven't tested it in spm, so the two commands might generate some other
problems, - and I am not fully sure it will work. But I hope... :-)
