I've seen the file message you've gotten before and it can occur when
the images are fine but there is just no memory/address space left to
open the image. My bet (2 cents) is that you will find the image to
be fine and if you do the test of taking another image, renaming it,
and substituting it for this one you will get exactly the same result
because it's not an image problem.
