In SPM99 the k value is the same as in SPM96 and is the number of
voxels in the cluster. During development of SPM99b we expressed the
spatial extent in terms of resels (this is a smoothness-independent
metric) but reverted to the original approach for consistency. It may
be that your are using a Beta version of SPM99?
