Hi - we're encountering a strange problem using spm99 on a solaris box.
For the most part everything seems to work fine, but when we try to open
files on a certain remote filesystem, upon entering the directory where
our files are we get a "non-existent file or permission denied"
message. the directory and all the files within have permissions of
777, and the exact same operation by the same user on a linux box (both
systems use the same NIS directory so the UIDs should be identical)
works fine with no such error.
the only guess that I can hazard is that spm for solaris is choking
because the directory tree is too deep (this is the 11th directory in
the tree) or the full path name is too long. could that be the case, or
are there other possible causes?
thanks,
russ
