I have a question about one of the new SPM99 PET designs "Population Main
Effects (paired t-test). It seems to me that this is the ideal design for an
FDG PET study when there is only a single group with only 2 scans per subject,
and one wants to generalize to the population the sample is drawn from. Will
this design give the same results as the Multi-subject: Conditions and Covariate
Design for the same dataset (2 scans per subject) ?
If not, can some one explain what is different between these designs, and which
design has more statistical power for this type of study ?
