We have been trying, for some time, to generate deformation
fields on specific brain structures, such as you might get
if you did a spatial normalization of the entire brain.
John Ashburner kindly posted a matlab script earlier that
can generate deformation fields out of the .mat files used
in spatial normalization, and this is close to what we want
to do. However, instead of doing this for whole brains, we
would like to instead get deformation fields for specific
brain structures, for which we have binary mask data. These
masks are all in the same space, all cotranslated and scaled
so that the trace of the covarience matrices are equal.
Would it be possible to do a normalization from one to the
other, and thus generate a .mat file that we might apply
John's script to?
Thanks for any help,
-David Isecke
