Does this FMRI dataset have a non trivial mat file (VOL.M), by which I mean one
which specifies some rotations? These cause nonzero off-diagonal elements in
the first three columns of the M matrix. This might occur if you had (for
example) coregistered the dataset to another session. In such a case the
dataset may not be in perfect voxel alignment with the mask, which is what
causes this error.
