| Dear Holtline,
| after spatial normalisation my image does not fit very
| well into to bounding box. How can I improve
| normalisation result?
| Stefan
This could be for a whole load of reasons. First of all check that
the normalisation has worked OK by using the <Check Reg> button
with the normalised image and an image from the canonical or template
directory. If things appear to be in register, then you may wish to
change your bounding box. The default bounding box chops off the
very bottom of the brain, and occasionally a tiny bit from other
extremities. You can change the bounding box via the Defaults button.
If the normalised image is not well registered with the images
distributed with SPM, then something has probably gone wrong with the
normalisation. There are a whole load of possible reasons for this,
most of which have previously appeared in the mailing list. Take a
look at http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/spm/archive.html, and try
keywords such as "spatial normalization distort".
Good luck,
-John
