Applications are invited for a full time postdoctoral position in the
department of psychiatry of the University of Geneva School of Medicine.
The position is available immediately (pending administrative approval) and
funding is guaranteed for 30 months.The research project is under the
direction of Drs. P. Giannakopoulos, U. Leonards, and V. Ibanez funded by
the Swiss National Research Foundation. It focuses on the identification of
patients at risk for developing Alzheimer's disease among individuals with
mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The primary responsability will be to
analyse EEG data following working memory activation tests in
controls,patients with MCI and AD. The applicant should be able to conduct
EEG recordings and have experience with ERP studies as well as ERD and
coherence analysis.A performant EEG system, the hardware and EEG related
software will be available. Candidates will be expected to interact closely
with trained neuropsychologists involved in testing geriatric patients.
This job could be particularly stimulating for MD or PhD involved in
Alzheimer's disease clinical research. In Geneva, there is a well
established clinical network for patients with cognitive impairments
including a Memory Clinic, a 300-bed geriatric hospital and a 150-bed
psychogeriatric clinic. Moreover, the department of psychiatry offers a
variety of well known laboratories in the field of clinical and basic
neurosciences.
