I would have a look directly at the help man pages within SPM, by pressing
the '?' button in the top right hand corner of the graphics window.
Within the mailbase, you could start with the message from Simon Young at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/spm/2000-01/0166.html which specifies in
detail how he (correctly!) set up a simple fMRI model using SPM99. A reply
to his questions are at http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/spm/2000-2/0000.html
Darren Gitelman also has collated the mailbase literature on setting up
random effects models which is at http://www.brain.nwu.edu/fmri/spm/
Hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Geraint
