Serge-
My free MRIcro software will convert SPM for Windows headers (*.vhd) to
standard Analyze format headers (*.hdr).
http://www.psychology.nottingham.ac.uk/staff/cr1/mricro.html
To convert files one at a time, simply drag and drop the vhd icon onto
MRIcro and then press the 'save header' button (it has an icon of a floppy
disk).
To batch convert many VHD files to HDRs, Choose 'Convert DICOM/ECAT...to
Analyze' from the 'File' menu. A new window appears - click on the 'VHD ->
HDR' button. To select multiple files, simply shift+click or control+click
the required files.
SPM for Windows can also create HDRs: Select File/New/Data File List. Drag
and drop your VHD into the list and then choose "Save as Big Endian
Analyze". Note that SPMwin fills part of the header with random
information, so the resulting headers may not be compatible with all
viewers (in particular, the 'number of volumes' can be set to values other
than 1, making other viewers believe the scan is a 4D image instead of a 3D
volume).
