Included in the confeence info was a brief mention of the launch of a
society called SOPHIA: THE SCHOLARLY SOCIETY FOR EXPLORATION OF SPIRITUALITY
IN HEALTH AND HEALING. I hope that the committee of this society, once
formally launched, will continue to organise this annual conference at St
Martin's and will work hard to explore issues such as the one you raised
below. I have no immediate answer.
The society is going to use the new journal, SACRED SPACE: INTERNATIONAL
JOURNAL OF SPIRITUALITY & HEALTH as its organ of communication. Steve
Wright has offered us a regularly column in this quarterly publication. If
you want to know more about the journal the address is, Sacred Space
Publications, Editorial Office, Redmire, Mungrisedale, Cumbria CA 11 0TB,
UK. Individual subscriptions are only £30 (institutions £80) in UK and a
little more elsewhere in the world.
I have copied this to Steve to provide his e-mail address for anyone who

Actually I was embarrassed to discover that in my rush
I: 1. sent my question to the whole list rather than just
you and 2. overlooked the answer to my question in your
email. Thank you for your swift response. I would love to
attend though it looks doubtful that I can this summer. I
do want to stay informed however and will try to read more
carefully next time.
You may be interested in an online workshop which we are
offering March 13-24 on the Internet, "Human Values and
Healthcare." There are continuing education credits for
physicians, nurses, chaplains, and certified counselors all
through various American organizations.
Can you shed any light regarding my interest in
understanding what kinds of continuing education is required
for these various professionals in Scotland and where/how
you obtain continuing education?
