This year at the ACS National Meeting in Washington, D.C. August 20-24, there
will be a symposium to honor Ahmed H. Zewail, the 1999 Chemistry Nobel Laureate.
Professor Zewail received the Nobel Prize for "his studies of the transition
states of chemical reactions using femtosecond spectroscopy," and the
development of Femtochemistry.
Some of the invited speakers for this symposium are T. Baumert, A. W. Castleman,
M. El-Sayed, M. Gruebele, V. B. McKoy, H. A. Rabitz, and N. F. Scherer.
In addition to the invited talks, there will be time for oral as well as poster
contributions related to this symposium. I encourage you to submit an abstract.
